Reading is a feast!

Why do we read? Reading, of course, is the best way to teach when you are young. I was so fortunate to have a father who pushed me to read at a very young age.  I grasped onto books as much as some grasp onto sports. Something I am happy to report I still love to do.  But why do I read now? I still learn things but that is not my motivation. Reading to me is the ultimate way to escape.  More than any movie or tv show. Music is close but ultimately a song lasts 4 minutes while a book is a feast.   I am cursed with being a super fast reader and if I get into a book I can knock it out in hours. I actually don't like to do that. I like to be in a world for as long as I can. I force myself to slow down. I read a few pages, then close my eyes and make sure I enjoy what I just read.  I will drag a book out for a week just to stay in the world.   To me that is the most enjoyable.  While I do love to physically hold a book and read it I am not a book snob. I can read a book on my tablet and enjoy it just as much as if I am holding it. Over the next few weeks and months I will try to highlight some books and authors that I love.  While I do love me some Harry Potter and Hunger Games I will not be talking about those. They get enough love.  I will hope to show you some of my favorites that you may have never known exist.  READ MORE! READ MORE! Find a good book. Use your library!
